Whole home remodeling is time consuming and stressful, but at the end of it all, you practically have a new home and you will love every inch of it!  Whether you need more space, or you want an open concept, a whole home remodel might be your best option.  

Create Your Plan

Every whole home remodeling project needs to start with a plan!  After all, we know that you are not going to want to start tearing walls out and removing cabinets, countertops, and floors without knowing what you are doing next! 

We recommend starting with creating a vision, so you know how you want your house to look when it is completed.  You can find thousands of ideas on Pinterest, in magazines, in homes of family and friends, and on home improvement shows.  Please keep in mind that you have a budget that you need to work with, so you may want to create your vision accordingly. 

You may also want to determine how much of your home you want to remodel.  While you may want to do every single room, your budget may not allow for that at this time.  Do not let this discourage you, because you can easily create a plan for a whole home remodel and then do what you can afford and continue on with the projects as you have more money set aside. 

It is important to determine the style and design that you want incorporated into your new spaces, so keep that in mind as you are looking for ideas.  There is no point in creating a traditional home if you prefer a more modern look, so make sure that you know your wants before you start to choose any materials or designs. 

A contractor can be helpful throughout the entire whole home remodeling process, so we recommend that you hire one sooner than later.  It is always best to find someone that understands the vision that you have and that is willing to work with you to get you what you want.  The best part is that your contractor can easily hire all the subcontractors to do all the specialized work that you may need to have done on your home. 

One thing that we like to share with everyone is that you should look far into the future when planning remodeling projects.  While you may not know exactly what the future holds, you should know enough to understand that you may need certain features sooner than later.  This is the perfect time to include updates for aging in place or creating spaces that you can switch around as the kids start to move out.
