Types of Layouts to Consider for Your Bathroom Remodeling Project
Bathroom remodeling projects can be a little overwhelming in the beginning, because that is when you need to decide how you want this space to look. It is never easy to know if you are going to get it right or if you are going to regret your decision, weeks or even months down the road.
When you are beginning your bathroom remodel, you should start by determining who uses the bathroom and where it is located within your home. The answer to those questions will allow you to determine how to best use this space.
Here are 2 types of layouts to consider for your bathroom remodeling project:
1. Two Wall
A two wall bathroom features the sink and toilet on one wall and the shower and tub on the other. These are the least expensive bathrooms, because the plumbing is only in two spots.
2. Three Wall
A three wall bathroom layout is a little more complicated, as well as more expensive, but it is also the most versatile option available to you.
Most people know what type of layout they will use with their bathroom, simply because they will not want to move things around too much. The reason for that is it can be quite expensive to move pipes and other fixtures.
When you go to plan your new bathroom layout, you will want to consider these 3 things:
1. Wet and Dry Zones
The wet zones inside a bathroom are basically the shower and tub area and everything else is considered to be dry.
2. Toilet Placement
Some people do not mind having their toilet in the middle of the bathroom, right next to everything else. However, if you are the type of person that likes a little privacy while going, and people use the bathroom while you are in there, you may want to tuck your toilet away somewhere. This may be as easy as placing a half wall next to the toilet.
3. Consider Storage Options
Storage can be placed inside furniture or items that you bring into your remodeled bathroom or you can create storage inside little niches that are carved into the room. No matter which option you choose, you will need at least twice the amount of storage than you think that you do.
Remodeling a bathroom can be fun once you determine what your layout is going to be like. We recommend figuring out what type of bathroom and layout you want first and then working on the smaller details afterwards. The process will take a little extra time, but it will be worth it when you have the bathroom of your dreams.
